Social Security Act 2018

Assistance - Jobseeker support

22: When person is available for work

You could also call this:

“When the law considers you ready and able to work”

You are considered available for work if you meet one of these conditions:

You are available for and seeking full-time work. This means you are willing and able to do the work, and you have taken reasonable steps to find it.

You would be available for and seeking full-time work, but you qualify for an exemption from some or all of the work-test obligations under the rules mentioned in section 157.

You are willing and able to do full-time work, but because of a health condition, injury, or disability, you have limits on your ability to seek, do, or be available for that work.
