Obligations - Beneficiaries’ obligations - Specific obligations: work-test obligations

139: Purpose of sections 140 to 154

You could also call this:

“These sections explain how to keep your benefits by trying to find or keep a job”

Sections 140 to 154 are about making sure you keep trying your best to get a job, keep a job, or go back to work if you’re getting benefits that require you to work. These sections want you to keep doing what you can to support yourself and your family.

The sections also list the things you might need to do to keep getting your benefits. They set up a system that can be changed to fit your own situation.

These rules apply to anyone getting benefits that require them to work. The aim is to help you find work and become independent.
