50: When person is study ready

You could also call this:

“When you're ready to start studying or training full-time”

You are considered study ready if you are doing or are available to do full-time education or training. This education or training should lead to NCEA level 2 or a qualification that is similar or higher. The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) decides if a qualification is similar to NCEA level 2.

You can also be study ready if you would be available for full-time education or training, but you have a valid reason not to. These reasons are listed in rules mentioned in section 157. These rules explain when you don’t have to do education or training.
