Social Security Act 2018

427: Regulations: funeral grants: amounts and methods of payment

You could also call this:

“Rules about funeral money: how much you can get and how you'll receive it”

The Governor-General can make rules about funeral grants. These rules can say how much money you can get for a funeral grant and how you will receive the money.

The rules can tell the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) how to decide how much money to give for a funeral grant. They might say that MSD can choose an amount up to a certain limit to pay for reasonable funeral costs.

The rules about funeral grants are a type of law called secondary legislation. This means they need to follow special steps to be published and made official.
