“Rules for getting help with childcare costs”

If you look after a child who depends on you, you might be able to get help paying for childcare. This help is called childcare assistance. You can get this help if you’re the main person caring for the child, or if you’re temporarily looking after them because their parent is getting a certain type of benefit. To get this help, you need to meet some rules. These rules are set out in another part of the law. The government decides how much money you can get for childcare assistance.
