Social Security Act 2018

Factors affecting benefits - Factors affecting benefits - Factors affecting benefits: jobseeker profiles

183D: Period allowed for completion

You could also call this:

"Time to finish your jobseeker profile: you have 20 working days"

When you are making a jobseeker profile, you have a certain amount of time to complete it. This time period starts on the date you first get in touch with the Ministry of Social Development, or someone gets in touch with them on your behalf. It ends on the 20th working day after that date, as stated in sections 183B(3)(a) and 183C(1)(b).

You might be allowed more time if the Ministry of Social Development thinks you have a good reason for not being able to finish your profile within 20 working days. The Ministry of Social Development can decide to give you more time before or after the 20 working days are up. They will consider whether you or your spouse or partner have a good reason for not being able to complete the profile on time.

The Ministry of Social Development has the power to allow a longer period for you to complete your jobseeker profile. This longer period can be allowed if the Ministry of Social Development thinks there is a good and sufficient reason for you not being able to complete it within the usual time frame. You or your spouse or partner might be given more time to complete the profile.
