283: Effect of cancellation of young parent payment on accommodation supplement or temporary additional support

You could also call this:

"What happens to your accommodation help when your young parent payment stops?"

If your young parent payment is cancelled under section 281(2), it affects what you get for an accommodation supplement or temporary additional support. If you are a sole parent, the cancellation does not change what you get for an accommodation supplement or temporary additional support. If you have a spouse or partner, the cancellation can change what you both get for an accommodation supplement or temporary additional support.

If your spouse or partner's young parent payment is not cancelled under section 281(2), your accommodation supplement or temporary additional support is reduced by half and paid to your spouse or partner, and your spouse or partner's accommodation supplement or temporary additional support is also reduced by half. If your spouse or partner's young parent payment is also cancelled under section 281(2), you and your spouse or partner each get only half of your accommodation supplement or temporary additional support. You can find more information about this by looking at section 281(2).
