The Minister can give written directions to the Ministry of Social Development about transitional or savings provisions. These provisions apply to you if you receive assistance for goods or services that will be affected by a contract with a preferred supplier. This happens when a contract under section 366 takes effect or after a specified period.

A direction given by the Minister overrides certain sections of the Act, such as sections 347, 367(2)(b), and 368 to 370. You can find more information about publication requirements in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019. The Ministry of Social Development must comply with these directions.
