Social Security Act 2018

Administration - Notices and communications, services, and preferred suppliers - Goods or services, for beneficiaries or others, supplied by preferred suppliers

372: Preferred suppliers: transitional or savings provisions directions

You could also call this:

“The Minister can tell MSD how to handle changes when new suppliers are chosen”

The Minister can write instructions to MSD about how to handle changes when new preferred suppliers are chosen. These instructions explain what to do for people who are getting help with goods or services that will be affected by the new supplier contracts. The instructions can cover what happens when the new contract starts or for a while after that.

When the Minister gives these instructions, MSD must follow them. These instructions are more important than some other rules in the law. They change how MSD usually deals with preferred suppliers.

These instructions from the Minister are a type of law called secondary legislation. This means they need to be made public in a special way.
