You are addicted to or depend on one or more controlled drugs.

You are getting treatment for addiction.

You are waiting to be checked or to start addiction treatment.

You are taking a controlled drug that a doctor or other health professional has legally prescribed for you, in the right amount.

You fit into another category that the government has decided is a good reason.

Addiction treatment means help for people who are addicted to or depend on controlled drugs. This treatment must be given by a health professional or someone else who is trained to help people who use or have used controlled drugs. The MSD must approve the type of treatment.
