Risk-based measures - Food control plans - Food control plans

36: Food control plan: general description

You could also call this:

"A food control plan helps your food business keep food safe for people to eat."

A food control plan is a plan for your food business to keep food safe. You make this plan to find and control things that could make people sick. You think about the types of food you sell, how you handle the food, and where you sell the food.

You consider what kinds of food your business trades in, what you do to the food, and where you do these things. This helps you make safe and suitable food for people to eat. You can find more information about this by looking at the Food Act from 1986.

You use this plan to manage and eliminate hazards, so people do not get sick from eating your food. This plan is important for your food business to follow the law and keep people safe. You make sure your plan is designed for your particular food business.
