Food Act 2014

Risk-based measures - Food control plans - Removal of registration of food control plans

72: Effective date of surrender

You could also call this:

"When your food registration ends, this is when it officially stops being valid."

When you surrender your food control plan registration, it takes effect on a certain date. You choose this date when you give notice to the registration authority under section 71(1), and it must be after the date you give the notice. If you do not choose a date, the surrender takes effect on the date the registration authority gets your notice.

When you give notice, you can pick a date for the surrender to happen, as long as it is after you give the notice. If you do not pick a date, the registration authority will use the date they receive your notice. This is how the surrender date is decided.
