A food safety officer can get a copy of a document that relates to the Food Act 2014. You can think of a document as a piece of paper or a computer file that has information on it. The officer can copy the document where it is, take it to another place to copy it, or ask the person in charge to send it to them.

The officer can take pictures, videos, or other images to help with their work. They can also record sounds or make electronic records, like typing something on a computer.

If an officer does something under this part of the law, the rules about privilege and confidentiality in Subpart 5 of Part 4 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 apply, which means they have to follow certain rules to keep information private.
