Illustration for Food Act 2014

If you do not follow the rules of the Food Act 2014, a food safety officer can stop you from using a place or close it. This happens when the officer thinks you are not doing what the Act says you must do, and this could make food unsafe. The officer can only do this if they reasonably believe that the food will not be safe or suitable because of what you are doing.
