Illustration for Food Act 2014

If you are an importer, you can give up your registration at any time by sending a written notice to the chief executive. You do this by telling the chief executive in writing that you want to surrender your registration. The chief executive is the person in charge of making sure the Food Act 2014 is followed.

If you surrender your registration, it does not stop the chief executive from taking other actions against you under the Food Act 2014. This means the chief executive can still do things like investigate or take action if they think you have broken the law. The surrender only gives up your registration, it does not affect other things the chief executive can do.
