Illustration for Food Act 2014

If you broke a food safety rule before the Food Act 2014 started, a food safety officer can still use their powers to deal with it. The officer can do this even if the rule you broke was from the old food safety laws, which are sometimes called the former food regime. You can think of the former food regime as the set of rules that were in place before the Food Act 2014 came into effect.
