Food Act 2014

Miscellaneous provisions - Immunity, delegation, and review provisions - Delegation

353: Chief executive may delegate

You could also call this:

"The boss can give some of their jobs to others, but not all of them."

The chief executive can pass on some of their jobs to others under certain clauses of the Public Service Act 2020. You can find these clauses in clauses 2 and 3 of Schedule 6. This means they can give others some of their responsibilities and powers under the Food Act 2014.

The chief executive cannot pass on their power in section 410. This is an exception to their ability to delegate jobs to others.

When the chief executive passes on their jobs, it is done according to the rules set out in the Public Service Act 2020.
