Illustration for Food Act 2014

If you are a registered importer, you must tell the chief executive in writing about any significant change in your circumstances within 10 working days. A significant change in circumstances means a change in the information you provided when you applied to be a registered importer, such as the information given under sections 113 and 115, or something that might stop you from meeting the criteria under section 116. This also includes things like the death, bankruptcy, or liquidation of the registered importer, and in these cases, the person who takes control of the business must give the notice.

If someone takes control of your business because of something like death, bankruptcy, or liquidation, they must tell the chief executive about the change. You must give the chief executive written notice of any significant change in your circumstances. The chief executive needs to know about these changes so they can keep track of registered importers.

When you tell the chief executive about a significant change, you must do it within 10 working days of the change happening. This helps the chief executive make sure that all registered importers are still meeting the right criteria. You can find more information about what you need to do when you apply to be a registered importer under sections 113 and 115, and the criteria you need to meet under section 116.
