The chief executive can tell certain people to publish a statement to keep the public safe. This statement is to protect the public and the chief executive decides what it says. The chief executive can say what the statement must include, such as what the problem is.

The chief executive can also decide how the problem will be fixed and how it will be stopped from happening again. They can even choose the exact words to use in the statement. The chief executive gets to decide who publishes the statement, where it is published, and when it is published.

If you publish a statement as told by the chief executive under this rule, you are protected by something called absolute privilege, which is a special kind of protection. The chief executive gives these directions to the people described in section 280. You must follow the chief executive's directions when publishing the statement.
