Provisions relating to recognition, territorial authorities, administration, and enforcement - Territorial authorities - Transfer of territorial authority's functions, duties, and powers to another territorial authority or regional council

178: Records of transfer

You could also call this:

"Keeping track of jobs given to other councils"

When a territorial authority gives some of its jobs to another territorial authority or a regional council under section 176, you must keep a record of what was given. You have to keep this record and make sure it is up to date, including the details of the agreement made. You also have to tell the chief executive what jobs were given, who they were given to, and for how long, as soon as you can.

If a territorial authority or regional council gets some new jobs from another territorial authority under section 176, you must keep a record of this change. You have to keep this record and make sure it is up to date, including the details of the written agreement made.

You need to make sure these records are accurate and easy to find, so you can look at them later if you need to.
