Food Act 2014

Provisions relating to recognition, territorial authorities, administration, and enforcement - Territorial authorities - Review of territorial authorities

188: Appointment of person to conduct review

You could also call this:

"The Minister picks someone to check how well a council is doing its job."

The Minister can choose a person, called the reviewer, to look at how a territorial authority is doing its job. You need to know that the Minister has to talk to the territorial authority before making this choice. The Minister also has to think about what the territorial authority says when making this decision.

The Minister must do two things when appointing a reviewer: talk to the territorial authority and think about what they say. This helps the Minister make a good choice for the reviewer. The reviewer's job is to conduct a review of the territorial authority.
