The chief executive can share information with someone outside New Zealand. You need to know what kind of information can be shared: it includes personal information, as defined in the Privacy Act 2020, and information about a food business. This information about a food business can be confidential or commercially sensitive.

The chief executive can only share this information if certain conditions are met, such as if section 371 or section 373 is satisfied. You should look at these sections to understand when information can be shared. The chief executive must follow these rules when sharing information outside New Zealand.
