The Governor-General can make rules about food safety on the Minister's advice. You need to know that these rules can be about plans to keep food safe. The Minister must talk to people before making these rules, as stated in section 379.

The chief executive can add to these rules by giving a notice, as stated in section 405. You can find out more about what this means by looking at the Legislation Act 2019. The rules and notices are types of secondary legislation.

The Governor-General's rules and the chief executive's notices are important for food safety. You can learn more about how they work together by reading the law. The law says what the Governor-General and the chief executive can do to keep food safe.
