89: Registration authority may impose conditions on registration of food business

You could also call this:

"The people in charge of food businesses can add rules you must follow when you register."

Illustration for Food Act 2014

When you register a food business, the registration authority can add conditions to your registration. They can choose conditions they think are reasonable and you must follow them. The authority can change these conditions at any time.

If the government has made rules under section 76(1)(d), the conditions must follow those rules. The registration authority must tell you in writing about any new or changed conditions and why they are doing this. They must also tell you that you can ask for a review of the conditions under section 355.

When the authority changes conditions, it means they can add new ones, remove old ones, or change existing ones. You will be told what the conditions are and what you can do if you disagree with them. The authority will give you this information as soon as they can.
