When you apply to register as an importer, the chief executive might ask you for more information. You will need to give them this information before they decide whether or not to register you. The chief executive gets to choose what extra information they need from you to make this decision.

If the chief executive asks you for more information, you must give it to them within three months. If you do not give them the information within this time, your application will lapse, unless the chief executive gives you more time by sending you a written notice.

115Chief executive may require further information

  1. The chief executive may require an applicant to supply further information or material before determining whether or not to register the applicant.

  2. An application for registration lapses if the information or material is not supplied—

  3. within 3 months after the date of the requirement; or
    1. within any further time that the chief executive may allow by written notice to the applicant.
