Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Sale and supply of alcohol generally - Licensing generally, requirements on licensees, and conditions - Exemptions

8: Certain sales by makers, importers, distributors, and wholesalers exempted

You could also call this:

"Some alcohol sales by makers and sellers are exempt from the law"

If you are a maker, importer, distributor, or wholesaler of alcohol, this Act does not apply to you when you sell or supply alcohol to certain people. You are exempt when you sell or supply alcohol to someone who is also in the business of making, importing, distributing, or wholesaling alcohol. You are also exempt when you sell or supply alcohol to someone who holds a licence or a permanent club charter. This is similar to a rule in the 1989 Act, which you can find out more about by visiting the legislation website.
