Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Sale and supply of alcohol generally - Licensing process: on-licences, off-licences, and club licences - Applications for licences

109: Conditions may be imposed if required by local alcohol policy

You could also call this:

“Rules can be added to alcohol licences if the local area has specific alcohol rules.”

When you apply for a licence to sell or supply alcohol, the people who decide if you get the licence might add some conditions to it. They can do this if there is a local alcohol policy that is relevant to your application. They will only add conditions if they think that giving you the licence without those conditions would go against the local alcohol policy.

The people who decide if you get the licence will look at the policy and decide if the conditions are needed. They will think about what might happen if they give you the licence without any conditions. If they think that would not be consistent with the local alcohol policy, they can add conditions to your licence.
