318: Vacancy in office of president

You could also call this:

"What happens when the president of a trust leaves their job"

If you are the president of a trust, your job becomes empty when you resign in writing to the secretary or when you stop being a member of the trust. You stop being the president on the day you resign or the day you are no longer a member. The trust's secretary must then call a meeting to elect a new president.

When the president's job is empty, the secretary has to organise a meeting for the trust members to choose a new president. The secretary must do this as soon as a vacancy happens. You can find more information about this by looking at s 196(5), (6).
