Licensing trusts, community trusts, and other matters - Community trusts - Status, name, region, and functions of community trust

364: Functions of community trust

"What a community trust can and can't do with alcohol"

A community trust can do things that a person can do. You can think of a community trust like a person that can make decisions and take actions. It can also issue debt securities, which means it can borrow money from people or organisations.

A community trust is allowed to have a licence to sell or supply alcohol, but it does not have to do this. It can choose to sell alcohol, supply alcohol, or do both, if it wants to. You can find more information about this by looking at the related law.
