Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Sale and supply of alcohol generally - Licensing generally, requirements on licensees, and conditions - Restrictions relating to trading hours

49: Remote sales exempted from trading hours restrictions

You could also call this:

“Buying alcohol online is allowed at any time, but there are still some delivery rules.”

When you buy alcohol from a distance, like online, you can do it at any time on any day. This means you can make a remote sale of alcohol whenever you want, and it does not have to follow the usual rules about what time of day you can buy alcohol. You can find more information about the usual rules in sections 46 and 48, but remote sales are exempt from these rules.

However, there are still some rules that apply to remote sales, like when the alcohol can be delivered to you. These rules are explained in sections 48 and 59(1), which talk about the restrictions on delivery. You should look at these sections to understand when you can get your alcohol delivered.
