Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Sale and supply of alcohol generally - Licensing generally, requirements on licensees, and conditions - Permitted trading hours

45: Permitted trading hours for premises with relevant local alcohol policy

You could also call this:

“When you can sell alcohol depends on your local area's rules and your licence.”

If you have a licence to sell alcohol, you can trade during certain hours. The hours you can trade depend on the local alcohol policy in your area. You can trade up to the maximum hours stated in the policy if there are no other conditions on your licence.

If there is a local alcohol policy in your area, but your licence has more restrictive trading hours, you must follow the more restrictive hours. This means you have to close earlier than the policy says if your licence says so. You have to follow the rules on your licence.
