Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Sale and supply of alcohol generally - Management of licensed premises - Manager's certificates

222: Criteria for manager's certificates

You could also call this:

"What you need to qualify for a manager's certificate to sell alcohol"

When you apply for a manager's certificate, the licensing committee or authority considers some important things about you. They look at whether you are suitable to be a manager and check if you have any convictions. They also consider your experience in controlling premises with a licence, especially recent experience, and any relevant training you have done, including whether you hold the qualification required under section 218.

They think about any reports made under section 220 that might be relevant to your application. The committee or authority uses this information to decide whether to give you a manager's certificate. You can find more information about this in the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

The licensing committee or authority must follow these rules when they consider your application for a manager's certificate.
