Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Sale and supply of alcohol generally - Licensing generally, requirements on licensees, and conditions - Miscellaneous licensing provisions

71: Notification of Police

You could also call this:

"Telling the police about licence changes"

When you get a notice under section 69 or section 70, the secretary of the licensing authority must send a copy to the police and an inspector. They send it to the police station nearest to the premises that have the licence, or the secretary's office if the licence is for a vehicle. The secretary also sends a copy to an inspector.

If a police officer or inspector gets a copy of the notice, they can ask the licensing authority to cancel the licence. They can do this if they think the company is no longer suitable to hold the licence because of the changes that happened. The rules in section 280 apply to this kind of application, with some changes if needed.

You can find more information about this by looking at s 225B. The licensing authority follows the rules to make sure everything is done correctly. They have to send the notices to the right people and follow the right process.
