If you want to renew your alcohol licence, you can apply to do so. You must apply in the right way and to the right people, which is the licensing committee that dealt with your original licence application. You need to apply at least 20 working days before your licence runs out, unless the committee says you can apply later.

When you apply, you must use the correct form and follow the right process. You also need to give the committee all the information they require. If your application is about a particular premises, you must say whether the building has a proper evacuation scheme as required by section 76 of the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017. You must pay the required fee when you apply.

You must also tell the public about your application, but you only have 10 working days to do this after you file your application, not 20 working days, as stated in section 101.
