Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Sale and supply of alcohol generally - Licensing generally, requirements on licensees, and conditions - Requirements on holders of on-licences and club licences

52: Low-alcohol drinks to be available

You could also call this:

“Licenced places must sell low-alcohol drinks for people to drink there.”

If you have a licence to sell alcohol, you must have low-alcohol drinks available for people to buy and drink on your premises. This means you need to have alcohol with not more than 2.5% ethanol by volume at 20°C for sale. You can sell this type of alcohol to people who want to drink it on your premises.

If you only sell alcohol that you make yourself and you do not make low-alcohol drinks, then you do not have to follow this rule. You also do not have to follow this rule if your licence says you are exempt from it. This exemption might have been added when your licence was issued or renewed.
