135: Decision on renewal

When you apply to renew a licence, the licensing authority or committee thinks about it. They can renew the licence for up to 3 more years, following what is said in section 133. They can keep the same conditions as before or add new ones that they think are suitable.

If the licensing authority or committee says no to renewing the licence, they must say when it will expire. This date must be within 3 months of their decision.

You will know when your licence expires because the authority or committee will tell you the exact date.

135Decision on renewal

  1. After considering an application for the renewal of a licence, the licensing authority or the licensing committee concerned may, subject to section 133, renew the licence for a further period of not more than 3 years on—

  2. the conditions presently attaching to it; or
    1. any different conditions, relating to any matter, that the authority or committee thinks fit.

      1. If the licensing authority or the committee refuses to renew the licence, it must state the day on which the licence expires, and that day must be no later than 3 months after the date of its decision.
