Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Sale and supply of alcohol generally - Licensing process: on-licences, off-licences, and club licences - Matters that relate to decisions to renew licences

135: Decision on renewal

You could also call this:

"The licensing authority decides whether to renew a licence for up to 3 more years with conditions."

When you apply to renew a licence, the licensing authority or committee thinks about it. They can renew the licence for up to 3 more years, following what is said in section 133. They can keep the same conditions as before or add new ones that they think are suitable.

If the licensing authority or committee says no to renewing the licence, they must say when it will expire. This date must be within 3 months of their decision.

You will know when your licence expires because the authority or committee will tell you the exact date.
