Resource Management Act 1991

Water conservation orders

207: Matters to be considered

You could also call this:

“This tells you what things to think about when deciding if water should be protected by special rules.”

When you ask for a water conservation order, a special group called a tribunal will look at your application. They will think about why water conservation orders are important and other things mentioned in section 199. They will also look at:

Your application and what other people have said about it.

What businesses and communities need.

What other important documents say about water and land use. These documents include national policy statements, New Zealand coastal policy statements, regional policy statements, regional plans, district plans, and any new plans being considered.

The tribunal will use all this information to help them decide about your water conservation order.
