165ZP: Incomplete concurrent application
or “When an application for ocean use is sent back because it's not complete, there's a 20-day time limit to fix it or it's cancelled.”

You could also call this:

“Rules about when you need to ask for extra permissions before using the beach or sea”

If the regional council decides that more information is needed for your application, they must do this within 20 working days. This time starts after one of two things happens:

  1. If your application is complete, the council has 20 working days after the end of the 10-day period mentioned in section 88(3).

  2. If your application was not complete and you had to submit it again, the council has 20 working days from the day after you resubmit it under section 165ZP(3).

If the regional council decides that you need to get more consents, they will not do anything more with your plan change request. They will wait until you have applied for all the other consents needed and these applications are complete according to section 88(3).
