Resource consents - Submissions on applications

96: Making submissions

You could also call this:

“Having a say on a resource consent application: how to make a submission”

If someone applies for a resource consent and it is publicly notified, you can make a submission about it to the consent authority. You can say if you support, oppose, or are neutral about the application. Your submission must be in the prescribed form and served on the consent authority within the time allowed by section 97, and also served on the applicant as soon as possible.

If the application is only notified to a limited number of people, you can make a submission if you were served with notice of the application. Your right to make a submission might be limited by section 308B if you are a person A and the applicant is a person B, as defined in section 308A. You need to follow the rules for making a submission.

You should serve your submission on the consent authority and the applicant, and make sure it is in the correct form.
