Resource Management Act 1991

Water conservation orders

213: Court's report

You could also call this:

"The Environment Court tells the Minister what it thinks about a plan to protect water in a report."

When the Environment Court finishes its inquiry, it makes a report to the Minister. You can think of the Minister as a person who helps make big decisions for the country. The report says whether the special tribunal's report should be accepted, rejected, or changed. The Environment Court might also include a draft water conservation order in its report, which is like a plan to help protect water.

The Environment Court can also recommend that the application for a water conservation order be declined, which means it does not think the plan is a good idea. The Environment Court makes sure its report is publicly notified, which means it tells people about the report in a way that it thinks is best.

The Environment Court's report is an important part of the process, and it helps the Minister make a decision about the water conservation order.
