217I: Functions of regional councils
or “Regional councils make sure farms follow the rules about water and can check their plans.”

You could also call this:

“The regional council must keep track of important information about farms and their water protection plans.”

Your regional council must keep records about farms in their area. These records need to include:

If a farm has a certified freshwater farm plan.

The date when the plan was last certified.

The date when the farm was last checked to make sure it was following the plan.

Any other information that the rules say they need to keep.

The council has to keep these records up to date for each farm in the area they look after.
