134: Land use and subdivision consents attach to land
or “ Permissions given for land use and subdivision usually stay with the land, even when it changes owners. ”

You could also call this:

“Coastal permits can be given to others, but usually can't be moved to different places unless special rules say so.”

You can transfer your coastal permit to someone else, but there are rules about how you can do this. You can give all or part of your permit to another person. However, you can’t move your permit to a different location unless the permit itself or a rule in the regional coastal plan says you can.

If you want to transfer your coastal permit, you need to tell the authority that gave you the permit. You must do this in writing. The transfer won’t be official until you’ve done this.

Remember, these rules are about coastal permits, which are part of how New Zealand manages its coastal areas. If you’re not sure about anything, it’s a good idea to ask the authority that gave you the permit for help.
