Illustration for Resource Management Act 1991

You have a water permit under the Regional Plan: Water for Otago. If your permit was granted on or after 18 March 2020 and is for no more than 6 years, it might be extended. The expiry date of your permit is extended by 5 years if it is still valid. You can keep using your permit if it has not expired or has not been cancelled. Your permit must also not have lapsed or been surrendered. The conditions of your permit stay the same unless they need to be changed because your permit is being extended. The Otago Regional Council will update your permit with a new expiry date within 2 years. They do this to show that your permit has been extended under section 124, and that it has not been affected by section 125, section 126, or section 138. This means you can keep using your permit for a longer time.
