Resource Management Act 1991

Occupation of common marine and coastal area - Managing occupation in common marine and coastal area - Authorisations

165V: Requirements for offers for authorisations

You could also call this:

“What you need to include when asking to use a coastal area”

When you make an offer for an authorisation, you must say what activity or activities you want to do and where you want to do them. You must also specify the site where the activity will take place. If you are making a tender for an authorisation, you must also say how much you are willing to pay and how you will pay it.

You must include the total amount you are willing to pay, including any annual rental, and the form of payment. Your tender must be accompanied by a cash deposit or equivalent security that the regional council is happy with, and any other information that was asked for in the notice calling for tenders.

You must also pay any charge that is required under section 36(1)(ca) when you make an offer or tender. If your tender is accepted under section 165X, the amount of annual rental you pay will be reduced by the amount of any coastal occupation charges you have to pay.
