Resource Management Act 1991

Resource consents - Public notification and limited notification of applications

95: Time limit for public notification or limited notification

You could also call this:

“Rules for deciding how quickly the government must tell people about requests to use land or resources”

When you apply for a resource consent, the consent authority needs to decide if they should tell the public about your application. They have to make this decision within a certain time.

If your application is a fast-track one, the consent authority has 10 working days to decide. For all other applications, they have 20 working days. This time starts from the day you first give them your application.

The consent authority has to look at sections 95A and 95B to decide if they need to tell everyone about your application (public notification) or just some people (limited notification). If they decide to notify people, they must do it within the same time limit.
