Resource Management Act 1991

Occupation of common marine and coastal area - Duration of coastal permits for marine farms extended

165ZFHG: Decision to operate under replacement permit

You could also call this:

“This law explains how someone can switch from an old permit to a new one for using coastal areas, and what they need to do when changing over.”

If you have a coastal permit and decide to operate under a replacement permit, you can keep using your current permit until the new one starts. This is based on the terms of your new permit.

If you give up your current permit to use a new one, you’re still responsible for any rules you broke while using the old permit. You also need to finish any work related to the old permit, unless the authority in charge tells you that you don’t have to.

Remember, these rules are part of the Resource Management Act 1991. They help manage how people use common marine and coastal areas in New Zealand.
