52: Consideration of recommendations and approval or withdrawal of statement
or “The Minister reviews suggestions, decides on changes, and gets approval for important environmental rules.”

You could also call this:

“Rules for changing or getting rid of important national environmental guidelines”

You can change, review, or cancel a national policy statement. The Minister can do this using one of the processes mentioned in section 46A(1).

The Minister can make small changes to a national policy statement without using these processes. They can fix minor mistakes or make small amendments that don’t have a big effect. They can also change the NPS-UD (National Policy Statement on Urban Development) as described in section 77S(2).

If the Minister changes, cancels, or amends a national policy statement, it’s considered secondary legislation. This means it needs to follow the rules in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 about how it’s published.
