or “A judge can check and change what a court worker decides if someone asks within 10 work days”

You could also call this:

“This explains how rules about behaving properly in court also apply to the Environment Court.”

The Contempt of Court Act 2019 applies to the Environment Court with some changes. This means that certain parts of that Act work for the Environment Court too.

When you’re thinking about how the Contempt of Court Act 2019 applies to the Environment Court, you need to change a few words in your mind:

When the Act says “court”, it means the Environment Court. When it talks about a “Judge”, it means an Environment Judge or an Alternate Environment Judge. If it mentions a “judicial officer”, that includes Environment Commissioners and Deputy Environment Commissioners. And when it refers to an “officer of the court”, that means an officer of the Environment Court.

These rules help make sure that the Contempt of Court Act 2019 can work properly for the Environment Court, even though it wasn’t originally written just for that court.
