Resource Management Act 1991

Functions, powers, and duties of central and local government - Waivers and extension of time limits

37B: Persons to have powers of consent authority for purposes of sections 37 and 37A

You could also call this:

"Who can make decisions about resource management rules and time limits?"

When it comes to making decisions under sections 37 and 37A, you need to know which groups have the power to make those decisions. The Minister has these powers when carrying out functions under Part 6AA. A board of inquiry appointed under section 149J also has these powers, except when it comes to time periods and requirements under section 149R.

You should also know that the EPA has these powers when carrying out functions under Part 6AA, except for time periods and requirements under section 146(1). A special tribunal appointed under section 202 has these powers for all matters. These groups can make decisions about waivers and extensions of time limits under the Resource Management Act 1991.
