or “People who help make decisions about the environment can still do their job even if they pay local taxes.”

You could also call this:

“Money and travel expenses paid to people who help the environment court”

The law says that Environment Commissioners and Deputy Environment Commissioners will be paid for their work. The Remuneration Authority decides how much they get paid. This could be a salary, a fee, or an allowance. They also get extra money for things like travel expenses.

The government can use money to pay these salaries, fees, or allowances without needing extra permission.

Special advisors also get paid for their work. The money for this comes from Parliament. They get a salary, fee, or allowance, plus money for travel.

For travel allowances and expenses, the law treats Environment Commissioners, Deputy Environment Commissioners, and special advisors like they are members of a statutory Board. This is explained in the Fees and Travelling Allowances Act 1951.
