Land Transport Act 1998

Land transport secondary legislation

152: Power of Minister to make ordinary rules

You could also call this:

“Minister can make rules to keep transport safe and organised”

The Minister can make rules called ordinary rules for different purposes in land transport. These rules can be about making transport safer and setting up licenses for different types of transport. They can also help keep people secure when they travel.

The Minister can make rules to manage roads, bridges, and other transport structures. The rules can also help the economy grow and make it easier for people to get around.

The Minister can create rules to protect people’s health and look after the environment. These rules can be about anything that helps the Minister or the Transport Agency do their jobs better.

The Minister can also make rules about other things mentioned in the Land Transport Act.

When the Minister makes these rules, they become a type of law called secondary legislation. This means they need to be published in a certain way so people can find and read them.
